Our School

TFCP offers families in Tinton Falls and the surrounding communities an opportunity to be part of their children's first school experience. Through our cooperative setting we encourage involvement by each family to the best of their ability.  We offer both School Year and Summer Camp programs that focus on the interests and learning styles of the children enrolled.  We tailor our environment to provide the best possible experience for you and your child. Our activities focus on hands-on learning with an emphasis on building social skills and responsibility.  We believe that a happy experience outside the home coupled with exposure to a wide range of activities helps to install a lifelong desire for learning and exploration.

 

Our Staff

 All of our teachers are certified and have been teaching young children for an average of 20 years. Our school Director, Becky Martin, has focused on Early Childhood Education while attending Montclair State University and throughout her 25+ year teaching career. Parents and Aides assist our teachers on a daily basis, ensuring an adult/student ratio of no more than 1:7, which provides added individual attention and excellent supervision. All our members contribute to making TFCP a school as special as family!

Our History

Tinton Falls Cooperative Nursery School was founded in 1973 and has focused on the needs of the local community for over 45 years. TFCP continues to be a non-profit, non-denominational, developmentally appropriate preschool that focuses on the developmental styles of our students and the needs of our families.  Many of our classes and programs come to life via parent suggestions and preferences. We update and change our offerings according to the needs of our families.  TFCP is run by Board Members and volunteers with direction and ongoing coordination by the director and staff. Every family is a member of TFCP and has a voice in how we offer the community a special place for preschool children.

Our Teaching Philosophy

Each day is an opportunity for every child to learn and grow while exploring the world in his/her own unique way. We promise a nurturing and supportive environment that guides your child to his/her full potential. We encourage parental involvement through our cooperative program along with a variety of ways that families can become involved in our school.  Through hands-on-activities, our programs are designed to enhance emotional growth and social skill development which leads to better learning, creativity and healthy physical activity.
